Cyclone 4x800 team The Clearwater-Orchard track team increased its number of state qualifiers to 10 events thanks to a wild card in the 4x800 and 4x100. The girls 4x800 relay team placed second at Wednesday's district in O'Neill with a time of 10:28.8, which is actually the fourth-best time in the entire class, earning the Cyclones the first wild card given in that event. Relay members are Abbey Kester, Kylie Thiele, Kinzly Macke and Mallory Cooper. The 4x100 team of Thiele, Macke, Ryann Ickes and Hannah Rittscher qualified with a time of 52.4 seconds. The team finished third but still had one of the fastest times in the state. According to the NSAA, the winning relay team of each district qualifies for state, along with the five top times, regardless of place. Original results posted by the NSAA indicated the Cyclones qualified as wild cards in the 100 and 200. That has since updated and is not the case.
