Cyclones Girls Split Weekend Games, Boys Fall To Cougars

The Clearwater-Orchard basketball teams travelled to Niobrara/Verdigre Friday night, splitting the games.

The boys team fell short to the Cougars with a very close final score of 49-48.

​Senior Jagger Smith led the Cyclones in scoring with 19 points.

The girls team picked up their second win of the season, winning 48-25.  Ten Lady Cyclones put points on the board, led by senior Mallory Cooper with 12.

On Saturday, the Lady Cyclones hosted Boyd County, falling short to the Spartans by a close 49-43 score.

Seniors Whitney Rittscher and Mallory Cooper led the team in scoring with 11 points each. Cooper also shot a 3-pointer.

This leaves the girls team with a season record of 2-3 and the boys team at 2-1.

Up next on Tuesday, the girls and boys team will travel to Stuart.
