Cyclones Advance To Subdistrict Final Against St. Mary's

The No. 2 Cyclones blew past Boyd County in the first half of Tuesday's Class D1-7 subdistrict to build a strong lead, holding off No. 3 Boyd County by a score of 60-55.

Clearwater-Orchard built a 35-27 advantage at intermission, but Boyd County came back strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Cyclones 15-9 to keep it anybody's game.

Sophomore Jaggar Smith had a career night with 26 points, shooting 9-of-12 from the field and 6-of-9 from the charity stripe. Zach Martin, another sophomore, scored 12 points while junior Trevor Mlnarik added nine more points for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones will be back in action Thursday in the subdistrict final at West Holt against No. 1 St. Mary's. The Cardinals defeated North Central 56-37.
