Cyclone Track Teams Perform Well In Early Season Meets

The O-C Cyclones started out the outdoor season at the Sandhills Initational. 

"The kids came out and gave a great performances and put up some great early season marks," Coach Shannon Schumacher said. "They set numerous personal bests and even some Cyclone records."   

The Lady Cyclones ended up taking home the division two runner up plaque and third overall, he said. The girls 4x800 brought home the gold medal and set the cyclone record with a time of 10:58.66 (Kylie Thiele, Mallory Cooper, Kinzly Mache, and Abbey Kester).

The Cyclone teams competed in the Antelope County track meet was on April 10 and both the boys and girls earned the runner up spot. 

"It's a fast pace meet without much recovery time, but that doesn't stop the kids from giving their all," Schumacher said. 

The Lady Cyclones brought home eight gold medals and the Cyclone boys brought home three gold medals.  

Kylie Thiele brought home 4 gold medals, she won the 400m, 800m and was a member of the 4x100, and the 4x800.
