Cyclone Track Teams Compete In O'Neill Invite Thursday

The Cyclone track teams competed in the O'Neill Invite on Thursday.

The Lady Cyclones were the runner up and the boys were eighth out of the 10 schools competing in Division 2.

Winning the girls division was CWC with 104.5, followed by Clearwater-Orchard with 93.

Kylie Thiele, Mallory Cooper, Kinzly Macke and Abbey Kester dominated the competition in the girls 4x800 relay, finishing in 10:47, more than one minute faster than the next team to capture first place. Thiele also brought home gold medals in the 400 meter dash and the 800 meter run, and Macke claimed the gold in the 200 meter dash.

Lady Cyclone medalists were:
Girls 4x800 Relay - Clearwater-Orchard - 10:47 - first
Girls 4x400 Relay - Clearwater-Orchard - 4:35.45 - third
Girls 4x100 Relay - Clearwater-Orchard - 53.25 - second
800 - Kylie Thiele - 2:29.12 - first; Abbey Kester - 2:46.76 - sixth
400 - Kylie Thiele - 1:02.21 - first
200 - Kinzly Macke - 27.67 - first; Hannah Rittscher - 29.11 - fifth
100 - Kinzly Macke - 13.5 - second; Ryann Ickes - 13.61 - third
Shot Put - Emily Filsinger - 31-11.5 - third
High Jump -  Emily Filsinger -  4-9 - third; Lexi Pokorny - 4-8 - fourth
Triple Jump - Sierra Schroeder - 31-3.25 - third
Long Jump - Allee Snider - 13-3.5 - sixth

Winning the division for the boys was Wausa with 116, followed by North Central with 94, CWC with 79, Elkhorn Valley with 75, Bloomfield with 56, EPPJ with 50 and Boyd County with 31. The Cyclones tallied 14 total team points for eighth.

Boys 4x800 Relay - Clearwater-Orchard - 10:08.07 - sixth
400 - Arnulfo Salas - 59.33 - sixth
300 Hurdles - Jagger Smith - 48.37 - sixth
Discus - Orlando Roman - 98-3 - sixth
High Jump - Andy Kerkman - 5-8 - third; Jagger Smith - 5-8 - fourth
