Cyclone Girls Extend Win Streak To Two With Win Over Cougars

After a slow start to the 2016-17 season, the Lady Cyclones have hit their stride in recent nights, thanks in part to their senior leadership.

This time, it was seniors Kylie Thiele and Allee Snider who's big nights led Clearwater-Orchard to a 50-36 win over Niobrara/Verdigre Friday night.

Thiele accounted for 16 points on the night to lead the Cyclones, including hitting eight of 10 free throws, and five steals. Snider added six points but was particularly effective down low, hauling in nine total rebounds. Kinzly Macke and Allison Kerkman added nine points each.

The boys saw different results on the night as they fell to the Cougars 82-46. The Cyclones hit just 27 percent of their shots and were outrebounded by the Cougars 39-21.

Travis Kerkman led the Cyclones on the night, going six for 17 from the floor for 14 points. He also added nine rebounds on the night.
