Cyclone Fans Plan Celebration In Honor Of Wrestling Team

Cyclone fans are invited to the Clearwater American Legion on Tuesday following the boys basketball subdistrict game to celebrate another sport - Clearwater-Orchard wrestling.

The Clearwater Sons of the Legion will serve sandwiches around 8 p.m. Tuesday to fans, encouraging them to celebrate a successful wrestling season. There will be no charge for the food, according to Kelly Kerkman.

"We're proud of our Cyclones, and we really just want everyone to come out and celebrate the wrestling team," he said. 

The Cyclones had a tremendous year and finished third in the Niobrara Valley Conference as a team. They had two state qualifiers with Alex Olivan and Arnulfo Salas. Olivan finished runner-up at 195 pounds - the highest of any athlete since Clearwater and Orchard merged. Salas just missed medaling at 126 pounds.
