Clearwater-Orchard Hosts NVC East Band Festival Tuesday

Clearwater-Orchard hosted the Niobrara Valley Conference East Band Festival on Tuesday.

The afternoon clinics, featuring Clearwater-Orchard, Elgin, Elkhorn Valley, Ewing, Neligh-Oakdale, Niobrara and Verdigre, were capped off with a concert in the Clearwater Gym.

EV’s jazz band kicked off the concert with “Kick in the Brass,” followed by Verdigre with “Winterwinds,” Neligh-Oakdale with “Cumberland Falls Overture,” Elgin with “Journey Through Shadowood,” and Clearwater-Orchard with “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

The festival band and honor band, which included a mix of musicians from all of the NVC East schools, performed next, under the direction of clinicians Dr. David Bohnert of Wayne State College and Dr. Gary Reeves of the University of South Dakota.
