Water Over Highway 275, 70; NDOR Using Pilot Car

Between 4-6 inches of rain fell in Antelope County overnight, causing flooding over portions of Highway 275 and 70 early Friday morning.

According to the Nebraska Department of Roads, a pilot car is in use guiding traffic two miles east of Oakdale on Highway 275 and 7 miles west of Elgin on Highway 70.

Officials reminded motorists to use caution in these areas.

According to the National Weather Service, a small stream advisory is in effect until 10:15 a.m. for southern Antelope County, northern Boone County and western Madison County.

At 4:20 a.m., local law enforcement reported flooding along Highway 275. Highway 70 was soon added. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include Neligh, Battle Creek, Elgin, Clearwater, Petersburg, Oakdale, Meadow Grove and Tilden.
