Stineman Leads Antelope Co. Runners At Tough O'Neill Meet

Alison Stineman of Elkhorn Valley was the top finisher for the Antelope County high school runners in O'Neill on Friday.

The fiercely competitive meet featured 16 schools with nearly 150 high school runners and 105 junior high runners at the O'Neill Golf Course.

Stineman placed 4th for the Falcons in a time of 21:05.21. Teammates Katy Fleetwood and Audrey Chvala finished 45th and 51st, respectively.

Brayden Effle captured the 10th place medal for the EV boys with his time of 18:28.95, followed by Tucker Hecht in 21st (19:23.13); Kolton Krick 23rd (19:30.88); Isaiah Greenhalgh 65th ( 22:40.05); and Mitchell Petersen 73rd (24:41.40). The team finished in 7th place overall.

Kasi Grosserode led the way for the Neligh-Oakdale girls, finishing 18th in 23:46.87. Madi Grosserode was 26th with a time 24:22.07; Jayda Chance 34th (25:19.7); Rachel Higgins 40th (26:18.31); Alexis Jensen 41st (26:26.25) and Hailey Bixler 42nd (26:27.01). They finished 7th as a team.

Cole Belitz was the top runner for the Warrior boys, placing 18th with a time of 19:07.4. Cameron Wilkinson was 55th, followed by Christian Carothers in 68th; Logan McConnell 71st; Gage Dawson 72nd; and Jose Luna 75th. The team finished 12th.

In the junior high division, Hunter Bennett of EV won the boys race with a time of 5:32.8 Neligh-Oakdale's Griffin Claussen also grabbed a medal with his 8th place finish in 5:56.72.

The Neligh-Oakdale and Elkhorn Valley cross country teams will both travel to Albion on Friday, Sept. 23.
