Six Antelope County Youth Sing In All-State Children's Choir

Six Antelope County youth performed with the 2015 All-State Children's Choir on Thursday.

Students selected for the special choir were:  Elise Ruterbories and Daley Bearinger of Clearwater-Orchard; Layce Brandt and Adrienne Parker of Neligh-Oakdale; and Taylynne Charf and Sharon Bartak of St. Boniface in Elgin.

This event is for 4th and 5th grade students from across the entire state of Nebraska, but is limited to approximately 300 singers.

The students rehearsed all day and were able to work with Sally K. Albrecht, a renowned composer/arranger/choreographer/conductor.

An annual recipient of the ASCAP Special Music Award since 1987, Albrecht has more than 325 popular choral publications in print, over 50 larger elementary songbooks and musicals, plus 15 choral movement instructional DVD’s. She has directed and staged the half-time show singers performing during two Florida Citrus Bowls, and has conducted hundreds of honor choir events, including festivals in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center.  

The final Children's All-State Choir concert was held later that afternoon at the Lied Center in Lincoln.
