Pitzer Digital Welcomes New Reporter, Videographer To Team

A fresh but familiar face has landed in Neligh wielding a camera yet again.  

Alyssa Dye recently joined the My Local County News team (Antelope, Knox, Holt and Boone County News) as a reporter and videographer. She will be serving as intern while she works towards her master's degree.

Dye was one of the Rural Futures Initiative interns who worked with Economic Development Director Greg Ptacek throughout the summer of 2014. Along with Jessica (Remaly) Applegate, the team worked on the “This Is MY Neligh” marketing campaign and other development projects.  

“My RFI internship in Neligh was one of the biggest game changers in my college experience. Throughout this last year I realized that my passions for agriculture, entrepreneurship, rural communities, travel and videography intersect through storytelling," Dye said. "Having the opportunity to work in a rural startup definitely aligns with my vision and goals. I am most excited about the opportunity to work with and learn from Carrie and her team where I can continue to grow in the art of storytelling through stories that matter."

Carrie Pitzer, owner of the news sites, said she's excited to have Dye on staff and intrigued about what she will bring to the company.

"We've been a cutting edge marketing and media company from Day 1, so to have Alyssa here with us every day is very exciting," Pitzer said. "Not only does it give us the ability to hit cover more news in Knox, Holt and Boone counties, but it adds to our diversity with our videography."

Dye started earlier this week and has already contributed to several videos on the both the Antelope and Knox County News sites, as well as several stories. 

Dye is a recent graduate of UNL with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education-leadership with minors in international agriculture and natural resources and Engler agribusiness entrepreneurship. She will be covering stories in Knox, Holt and Boone counties.  

"I am excited to reconnect in Neligh, build new relationships, and explore neighboring communities through capturing their stories," Dye said.
