Photo Gallery: 'Remembering Our Fallen' Exhibit At The Fair

Many fair-goers stopped in the Riverside Park pavilion last week to take in the touching "Remembering Our Fallen" display. 

The wall was displayed following it's processional into Neligh on Tuesday. The exhibit is a war memorial that holds a collage of both military and personal photos in almost a scrapbook fashion of numerous soldiers from Nebraska who have died in military service. 

The goal of the tribute was to create an exhibit for every state, which will be completed in 2016. At that time, all 50 exhibits will be brought together for a National Tour. In the mean time, the exhibits travel to communities in their home state and are often enhanced by Legion or Patriot Guard Rider escorts and opening ceremonies. There are currently 22 completed displays.

This exhibit is endorsed by the American Legion of Nebraska and the VFW of Nebraska. It was created by Patriotic Productions in partnership with the Omaha World Herald. 

If you missed the display and would like to pay tribute to the individuals on the wall, it will be back in the area November 9-13 at Wisner-Pilger High School. The last time this display was in Antelope County was in 2011 at the Tilden Prairie Days.
