Neligh-Oakdale 1st, Pope John 2nd At NVC Quiz Bowl

In a rematch of the ESU #8 Quiz Bowl final, Neligh-Oakdale and Pope John faced off in the finals of the 2016 Niobrara Valley Conference Quiz Bowl in Chambers on Wednesday.

This time, Neligh-Oakdale was able to reverse the outcome as they came back through the loser's bracket and defeated Pope John twice to win the NVC championship. Pope John was the runner up and Clearwater-Orchard placed third in the conference.

Other schools competing were Rock County, Chambers, Keya Paha, St. Mary's, West Boyd, Wheeler Central, West Holt, Ewing, Verdigre, Niobrara, Clearwater-Orchard, Stuart, Elkhorn Valley and Elgin Public.
