Antelope County Veteran Service Officer To Retire In June

The Antelope county Veteran Services Officer is giving the Board of Supervisors a bid head start to look for his replacement.

In Tuesdays meeting, the Veteran Services Officer, Ron Marshall, and multiple members of the Veteran Services Committee addressed the board about Marshall’s upcoming retirement in June of 2017.
 
Marshall has been working for Antelope County for 30 years, and serves over 500 veterans in the county.

Supervisor Charlie Henery made sure to tell the committee that the board knows the importance of this job. "I do want to, in any way or form, see a veteran cut in any way."

It was previously discussed to look into the idea of combining with another county and the Officer provides services for both counties. 
 
It was the Veteran Services Committee recommended that the officer only cover one county to provide the best service.
 
It was also recommended to the board that Marshall receives an extra months pay to help the new officer get on their feet.
 
In the end, the board reassured the committee that no matter the decision, it was benefit the veterans of Antelope County.
