Police Chief Kisses Pig To Support Women Of Neligh

It's not every day that the chief of police kisses a pig, but Neligh's Mike Wright did just that Thursday night — and in front of hundreds of people.

In a contest sponsored by the Women of Neligh organization, Wright raised more money than anyone else, earning him the opportunity to kiss a pig during the Extreme Bull Riding at the Antelope County Fair.

Also in the running to kiss the pig were Nate Metschke, Andy Elder and Gabe Steinmeyer. The Women of Neligh were raising money for community activities and betterment projects for Neligh and Antelope County.

Their next activity will be on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 4-6, with a Quarter Carnival during the Neligh Chamber Barbecue in Riverside Park during the Antelope County Fair. They will have games and a dunk tank.
