A red flag warning is in effect Monday due to dangerous fire conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, strong westerly winds of 25 to 35 mph with gust to 50 mph behind a cold front Monday afternoon will help drive humidities to lower than 20 percent for much of eastern Nebraska. The strong winds and low relative humidity combined with dry grasses will lead to dangerous fire weather conditions.
The warning is in effect from noon Monday until 8 p.m. A fire weather watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening for low relative humidity for eastern Nebraska.
