State Testing Results Released For Antelope County Schools
State testing results were released this week with nearly three of every four Nebraska public school students meeting standards. As for Antelope County students, comparing the results isn’t quite as simple because of enrollment numbers.
To protect the identity of students, results are not made public when fewer than 10 students are reported in a group or fewer than five students are in a single performance category. That data is made available to school administrators, but not the general public. For example, results show Elgin Public School had 70 percent of fourth-graders meeting the standard in reading. As for how many were below the standard and how many exceeded them, that data is not listed to protect the identity of those students. Statewide, 79 percent of fourth-graders did meet or exceed the standard, and Elgin may have matched or topped that percentage. It's simply not known due to privacy. Across the state, students in grades 3-8, along with grade 11 were tested in reading and math. Grades 5, 8, 11 were also tested in science and writing. Due to technical difficulties during testing for some schools across the state, reading scores for grades 8 and 11 were not released. Below is a synopsis of results from each public school in Antelope County compared to statewide results, along with a link to the test results by category.
