Coming off the high of an upset on Monday night, Neligh looked to keep the momentum rolling against Creighton for a chance to slide into the C1 Area Tournament Championship. Unfortunately, they weren't able to get the fast start out of the gates that their opponent did.
Creighton took down Neligh 16-3 to end Neligh's season. Creighton jumped on top early, scoring eight runs in the first inning off a combination of seven free bases and four hits. Neligh was unable to counter and Creighton added three more to the scoreboard in the second to take a quick 11-0 lead. Neligh's pitching staff finally got a win in the third, but the offense was once again unable to counter.
Creighton finished the top of the fourth ahead 16-0 after another five runs. Neligh got a couple back in the bottom of the frame as Cole Belitz and Andrew Herley came around for scores. Heading into the bottom of the fifth needing four runs just to keep the game from ending early, Neligh got a run out of lead off man Jayden Arehart when a Herley deep fly brought him around. Unfortunately, that was all they could muster as they fell 16-3.
Kaleb Pofahl got the start for Neligh but was replaced by Beau Murray in the first inning. Murray worked his way through the next three and two-thirds innings before Conor Ramold came in to close out the game.
