One of the more challenging meets on Neligh-Oakdale's schedule every year is the Amherst Invite. However, don't tell that to the Warriors.
Neligh-Oakdale's wrestlers were up to the challenge on Saturday, finishing third as a team thanks to seven medalists. Three of those medalists, Brock Kester, Cameron Wilkinson and Andrew Herley, finished as champions in their respective weight classes.
Kester took home the top medal at 106 pounds, putting away Plainview's Eli Lanham in the championship match. Wilkinson pinned all four of his opponents, including Sam Tourney of Shelton in the finals, for the 113 pound gold. Herley also pinned all three of his opponents, in a total of 4:55 seconds on the mat, to take the 132 pound medal.
Kaleb Pofahl earned runner up, Cade Wilkinson and Jayden Arehart each took third and Dawson Kaup finished in fourth.
