Thanks to a big night by one of their star players, the Elkhorn Valley girls notched another victory for the win column.
Hannah Ollendick dropped in a 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Falcons, all while dishing out four assists and coming away with six steals to lead EV to a 69-33 win over Wausa.
The Falcons shot 46 percent from the floor, including 9-of-19 from Ollendick. Sierra Rystrom and Amber Miller combined to go 9-of-18 while posting 12 points each. Miller also dished out six assists and Olivia Nall pulled down six rebounds.
Despite a strong performance from one of their own, the boys weren't able to duplicate the feat in a 60-51 loss. They started strong, leading 25-23 heading into halftime, but the third quarter proved fatal as they allowed the Vikings to win the quarter 19-9 and hold on for a win.
Brayden Effle posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 10-of-15 from the floor. Kalen Dittrich added 16 points while Brandon Evans and Braedyn Ollendick each dished out four assists.
