Clearwater-Orchard kept its record unblemished on Friday, taking down Boyd County in a Friday afternoon showdown.
The Cyclones dominated the Spartans on the way to a 62-6 victory. They held a strong 42-0 lead at halftime and were able to cruise in the second half to the win.
Clay Thiele had a huge night for O-C. Offensively, he was the main target of quarterbacks Blake Hoke and Chris Kester, pulling in five catches for 78 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he tied for the team high with five tackles, pulling down a game-high two sacks.
Another Cyclone with a big night was Eli Macke. The freshman busted off a 50-yard run as part of his 101 rushing yards and two scores on just eight carries. Creston Bertschinger added 64 more yards on the ground, scoring once. Through the air, Hoke finished with a team-high 132 yards on 12-of-17 passing with four touchdowns.
