Two more wins under Clearwater-Orchard junior varsity’s belt now has them sitting at 4-1 on the year.
Last week, the Cyclone JV took down Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing on the road in shutout fashion, 16-0. Using an aggressive defense, the Cyclones continually pressured CWCE’s offense, in turn giving Clearwater-Orchard strong field position all night.
The first quarter scoring started with a ten-yard touchdown pass from Austin Pokorny to Tristan Ahlers. On the following defensive series the aggressive Cyclone defense would sack the Renegade QB in the endzone for a safety.
O-C would control the second half as well, putting one more touchdown on the board early in the fourth quarter on an Eli Macke one-yard run. The defense then took control and completed the shutout for the win.
Then on Monday against Osmond, the Cyclone JV once again got the win, 18-6.
After a Macke touchdown run gave O-C the lead, Osmond answered to tie the game at six going into the halftime break. However, the second half was all O-C, thanks to a big showing on special teams. Macke returned the opening kick back 75 yards for a score to put the Cyclones up 12-6. Donaven Nolze then got in on the action, blocking an Osmond punt. The final score of the game came when Macke took it 30 yards for a score in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
