The Elkhorn Valley boys earned their third win of the year on Tuesday during a road trip to Ewing.
The Falcons took down the Tigers for the second time in the past few weeks with a 56-37 win. EV used a 20-point second quarter to charge to the victory.
The Falcons got 12 points out of both Kalen Dittrich and Brayden Effle, the latter posting a double-double with 11 rebounds while dishing out six assists. Julio Sierra added 11 more points and Brandon Evans added eight. Sierra added nine rebounds, Braedyn Ollendick added eight and Dittrich had five.
The second quarter proved to be the difference maker in the girls game as well, this time not working in the Falcons' favor. The Falcons were outscored in the second frame 24-3, allowing Ewing to put them away in a 66-53 loss.
Sierra Rystrom posted an impressive performance, putting in 19 points and puling down 10 rebounds. Hannah Ollendick added 13 points while Amber Miller finished with nine. Miller and Olivia Nall recorded eight rebounds, each, while Ollendick had seven and dished out five assists. Miller also had a strong showing on defense, coming away with six steals.
