The Falcons kicked off week two of the high school basketball season with a Tuesday evening trip to Madison.
The Lady Falcons continued their dominant start to the year, topping the Dragons 60-38. Elkhorn Valley used a second quarter in which they outscore Madison 23-2 to propel themselves to the win.
The Falcons shot 44 percent from the floor, led by 14 points from Bri Werner and Amber Miller. Hannah Ollendick added 10 and Sierra Rystrom and Olivia Nall had eight each.
Nall led Elkhorn Valley on the glass with six rebounds. Ollendick dished out five assists and Miller and Rystrom came away with seven and five steals, respectively.
The boys weren't quite as fortunate in their showdown with the Dragons, as Madison put up 23 points in the third quarter to put the Falcons away 56-40.
Kalen Dittrich finished as the only Falcon in double figures with 13 points. Brayden Effle and Braedyn Ollendick added nine points each while Brandon Evans had seven.
Effle and Ollendick also accounted for nine rebounds each. Julio Sierra pulled in eight and Dittrich had seven.
