Elgin Public/Pope John continued to weather their tough schedule, battling but ultimately falling short against Howells-Dodge.
Howells-Dodge jumped out to a quick 38-0 lead after one quarter of play before the Wolfpack were able to get on board, sending the game into halftime with EPPJ trailing 58-8. In the second half, EPPJ shut out the Jaguars while adding 14 points, falling 58-22.
Hunter Reestman had a hand in all three of the Wolfpack scores, throwing for two touchdowns and running for the other. He finished the day with 80 yards passing, 49 rushing and six tackles.
Conor Ramold had the only other Wolfpack pass completion, going 23 yards to Kyle Schumacher. He also finished as the lead rusher for the Wolfpack with 15 carries for 56 yards. Cameron Nielsen added another 45 yards on 10 carries. Schumacher finished the day with four catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
