Clearwater-Orchard entered Friday night determined to get back into the win column, but unfortunately had the tough boys and girls of West Holt in their way.
Against the Huskies, the Cyclone boys battled shot-for-shot for the first half, entering the break knotted up at 22 all. However, West Holt came out firing in the second half, outscoring O-C 34-21 to put Clearwater-Orchard away 56-43.
The Cyclones kept in the game thanks to a double-double performance from Ryan Wilhelm, who 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob Long led all scorers with 15 points, going 7-of-13 from the floor.
The girls game produced similar results for Clearwater-Orchard. The Cyclones jumped out to a 16-10 lead after one quarter of play, but they were unable to keep the scoring up, posting just 12 points over the rest of the game, leading to a 70-28 loss.
Brooklynn Chipps led the Cyclones with 11 points. Katie Stearns added seven and Allison Kerkman pulled in a team-high eight rebounds.
