After several requests from students, first grade teacher Cheryl Schwager, and second grade teacher Sierra Summers decided to collaborate their two classes to find a way to give back this Thanksgiving season.
Coming up with many ideas, the two classes decided to hold a Food Drive during Monday Motivation on November 20. The purpose of the food drive would be to give back to those in need throughout the Orchard community.
The students decided to set a goal to collect 125 goods, but they did so much more.
“These kids crushed their goal of collecting 125 goods to donate. They “unofficially” collected over 250 goods.
They couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the amazing Orchard Public Schoosl students, staff, and community. We were able to make some family’s Thanksgivings pretty special,” said Summers.
