The third grade class in Orchard is taking a more hands on experience with their upcoming studies.
After several months of collecting milk jugs, the students were finally able to complete their igloo which will become useful in learning circumference and diameter. Third grade teacher Karley Jackson said that it will be good or the kids to have something to visualize when learning this chapter.
“It was kind of a time consuming project. The hardest part was waiting to gather all of the milk jugs. It was great to see everyone sending them to school to help us finish it. Each jug was hot glued together. Stability was an issue so we added some braces inside of it to help stabilize it,” said Jackson.
Overall, the project was something for the books and Jackson and her students are excited to learn hands-on with their milk jug igloo.
