First thing walking into the Golden Living Center in Neligh, is a picture from the movie UP that depicts the attitude and positivity that this center seems to have.
Last week, the center continued to show the love and positivity while celebrating Nursing Home Week.
From honoring the vets to having a carnival, last week was successful.
On Tuesday, the center released butterflies in remembrance of the residence that have passed in the last few years.
This specific activity is one of the many that will be returning next year.
The residents also were able to take part in a “Prom”, where for many, it was the first time.
“We have had really good reactions, it has been a lot of fun," Activities Director Janna Schrunk said. "They have looked forward to it all day. We have primped hair all day, and put makeup on, make sure our nails look good, and we have just made sure that everyone looks good here before they came out!”
The week ended with an open house and tractor show for the residents.
The success of the week prompted the facility to keep it going every year.
And the golden living center wants to tell you that they are making some changes soon and you should expect some big things.
