Sheriff's Office Issues Third Warrant In Cattle Theft Scheme

A third individual is now wanted in connection with a cattle theft scheme that took place in Antelope County earlier this summer.

According to Sheriff Bob Moore, Errik S. Dummitt, 26, is wanted on two felonies - theft by unlawful taking (Class III) and attempt of a class III felony. His bond is set at 10 percent of $20,000. Dummitt's last known address was 4009 Raynor Pkwy in Bellevue.

Anyone with information on Dummitt's whereabouts is asked to contact the Antelope County Sheriff's Department at 402-887-4148.

Moore said Dummit's alleged involvement stems from the May 19 attempted theft of cotws from Wilbur Rakow's property at 7 1/2 miles east of Highway 14 and 854 Road (Pierce/Neligh Road).
 
According to Moore, Dummitt - along with Rebecca M. (Bree) Robbins of Lyons (formerly of Antelope County) and Benjamin Johnson of St. Edward - attempted to load the cattle but were unable to do so. The truck driver was advised to return to Werner Trucking. 

According to the probably cause affidavit, Robbins and Johnson returned to the property on June 25 and loaded the 35 cows and 40 calves. The cattle were later located in Platte County, having been sold to a Columbus couple. The cattle were immediately returned to Rakow.

Moore said once the cattle theft was made public, Robbins and Johnson fled the St. Edward area. Warrants for their arrests soon followed, and they remained on the run until July 15 when they were taken into custody in Platte County. 

Both Robbins and Johnson are currently being housed in the Antelope County Jail in Neligh. Robbins is being held on a $100,000 bond and Johnson has a $15,000 bond. Both have been charged with other felonies in Boone County.
