American Legion Riders made their way through Neligh Thursday to escort the Nebraska Remembering Our Fallen exhibit from Fremont to O'Neill.
According the exhibit's website, Remembering our Fallen was created in November 2010 by Bill and Evonne Williams of Omaha in hopes of honoring the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, to provide comfort to friends and family of the fallen and to remind others of the tremendous cost paid by some. The memorial includes photos of the Fallen who have died in The War on Terror since September 11, 2001, and called Nebraska home.
Some businesses, including Blackburn Manufacturing and Smeal Fire Apparatus, shut down all operations to pay tribute to our fallen heroes.
The Riders escorted the exhibit to O'Neill where it will be on display July 15-17.
