People plugging their ears at a concert is typically not a good sign. But, at today's performance, it was encouraged.
The pounding beat of the new Neligh-Oakdale drumline generated a powerful sound this morning. The public show, held in the Neligh-Oakdale band room, concluded this week's drumline camp taught by Michael Klee of Complete Percussion.
Four drumlines performed, divided by grade, ranging from fifth grade to high school students.
"Mr. Klee has been working with my students for three years now and there is a need to start a visible drumline that can perform at ball games as well as the pep band, and 32+ students chose to be involved and that's awesome!" Metschke said.
