Neligh-Oakdale third-grader Adrienne Parker will serve as this year's "Mayor For A Day."
Board of Education President Carrie Pitzer made the announcement at Monday evening's meeting. "Mayor For A Day" is a cooperative effort between the Neligh-Oakdale Board of Education and the City of Neligh.
This is the third year a student has been chosen as "Mayor For A Day." Past "mayors" were Parker Tinsley and Kasi Grosserode.
In her letter Adrienne said, "I would love to be Mayor because if I set a good example other kids will do the same and they might be Mayor someday!"
Adrienne said if she were mayor, she would hold a science fair to encourage students to like science and hold a teacher appreciation day for students to make crafts for their teachers.
Adrienne is the daughter of Daniel and Nicole Parker and is in Mrs. Sharon Kinnan's third-grade class.
