In cooperation with ESU 8 and the Early Development Network, Neligh-Oakdale Schools would like to invite parents of children from birth to 3 years of age to a free Early Childhood Screening on Monday, September 22, at West Ward Elementary. Screening will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Early Childhood Screening is a program that helps to find out how your child is growing and developing; to help connect parents and child with school and community resources if needed; and to answer any parenting questions or concerns. Several early childhood professionals will be assisting with the screening and be available to answer questions. Early Childhood Screening can give parents the reassurance that their child is successfully meeting developmental markers or identify health and learning problems to prevent them from becoming more serious. Research has shown that the earlier children with delays receive instruction, the more likely they are to learn to communicate, to move independently, and to learn to interact with others. Screening provides an opportunity for parents to learn more about their child and discover resources to assist in preparing children for school success. If you have any questions, call 402-887-4754.
