Neligh Police have released more information regarding Sunday morning's rollover along Highway 275.
According to police, speed was a contributing factor in the accident, which was reported at about 8:15 a.m.
Driver Christopher Dewayne Cornish of Colorado told police he was driving 35 mph when he went around the corned near Cubby's and thought he could could negotiate the curve but instead rolled onto the Wynn Sales lot south of Cubby's. The truck struck several vehicles parked on the used car lot.
This is the same corner where a truck struck a house several years ago. The house was demolished and is now the site of a used vehicle dealership.
Police have not determined Cornish's actual speed. Their estimate will be released at a later time. Officials also said they are unable to confirm if there was a shift in the load of boxed beef, which was on pallets.
Desmond Deishon Jones of Indiana was a passenger in the 2013 Freightliner and was asleep in the sleeper cab at the time of the accident. Both Cornish and Jones were transported to Antelope Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and released right away, police said.
Neligh Police say the leased truck picked up a load of boxed beef from Excel Fresh Meats in Schuyler and was traveling to Oregon and Washington with the load. The carrier, police say, was C.R. England of West Valley City, Utah.
The site was cleared by 3:20 p.m. and the road was opened at that time. Both the Neligh Police and Antelope County Sheriff's Department are investigating the accident.
