The two persons of interest in the Sydney Loofe case were arrested Thursday in Missouri and remain on a federal hold.
The Taney County Jail has listed Aubrey C. Trail, 51, and Bailey M. Boswell, 23 of Wilber, as on a federal hold. Both were arrested on warrants unrelated to the Loofe case.
FBI agent Randall Thysse, along with Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister, reiterated throughout Thursday's press conference that the investigation was ongoing at this time. Bliemeister added that, despite the heavy activity in the Wilber area on Wednesday evening, that no additional evidence was found that might lead to Sydney's location. He also denied a rumor that Sydney's cell phone was found buried in a yard in Wilber.
Sydney, 23, is the daughter of George and Susie Loofe of Neligh. Both of her parents attended the press conference. Her father also asked people to continue searching for Sydney and to speak up if they know any details of her disappearance.
“On behalf of our family, I would like to thank all of you — all of the people who made the pins, the fliers, gotten the word out on social media, all of the support our family has received,” George Loofe said. “Continue that and thank you for all of your prayers. In my opinion, someone knows something. Please do the right thing.”
If anyone has any additional information, they are asked to contact the FBI hotline made for the case at 402-493-8688 and select option 1.
