In pursuit of turning a hobby into a business in their hometown, Nate and Tiffany Soper launched Hilltop Auto Sales, LLC in February.
Soper said Hilltop Auto Sales specializes in pickup trucks, having several on hand. They will also search for other types of vehicles to meet customers' individual needs.
"I’ll do my best to get what someone wants, but as for what I carry and have on the lot, it will mostly be pickups," Soper said.
Along with vehicles, Hilltop Auto Sales also carries new galvanized flat beds, Krogmann hydraulic bale beds, replacement bumpers and grille guards as well as providing spray-on bedliners.
"Right now my big push is galvanized flatbeds. In the farming industry, galvanized has great longevity because it actually soaks into the steel, making them a huge asset," Soper said. "Most flatbeds are baked-on painted. The galvanized won’t chip, it will fade and get darker, but if gravel chips it, rust won't be an issue."
Nate said cars have always been an interest of his.
"As long as I have had my driver’s license, I have always owned a lot of vehicles. It got to be a hobby of mine to buy a vehicle, fix it up, and sell it.
For Nate, owning an auto sales business is something he said he has always wanted to do to take his life-long hobby to the next level, and with a dealer's license, he is making this dream a reality.
"I found an opportunity to take what I did for a hobby and make a business out of it. And then add on to it ten-fold with the flatbeds and grill guards and bedliners," Soper said.
Nate and Tiffany are both originally from Neligh, and are raising their two daughters, Ashton and Madelyn in their home community. For the last 20 years, Nate has been working with his father at Agronomy Supply. The couple said they are excited about this new entrepreneurial endeavor.
“So far, I love it. I am excited about being my own boss and getting to do what I love to do," Nate Soper said.
"It’s been something that he has been doing for so long. This has been the golden light at the end of the tunnel," Tiffany Soper said.
