Snow is expected to return to Northeast Nebraska on Monday, as is dangerously cold weather.
A low pressure system will move across Nebraska, followed by an Arctic high pressure system that will bring the coldest weather of the season to much of the country, according to the National Weather Service.
In Antelope County, there's an 80 percent chance of snow Monday, mainly between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. A blustery southwest wind of 8-13 mph will increase to 16-21 in the afternoon with gusts up to 30 mph. About 1-3 inches of snow is expected.
Wind chills Monday evening are expected to drop to -16 degrees with a south-southwest wind of 13-22 degrees, switching to the north-northwest in the evening with gusts up to 31 mph.
Tuesday's low will be -9 degrees but feel significantly colder due to the wind. The high is expected to reach 17 degrees. Below normal temperatures will continue in the area all week.
