Residents at The Willows in Neligh got a special lunchtime guest Thursday.
Senator-elect Tom Briese stopped in to have lunch and discuss important issues with the guests in advance of him taking office. He is set to officially take over his duties as a Nebraska State Senator January 4.
Briese, who works as a farmer near Boone, takes over as the District 41 Senator for Kate Sullivan, who reached her term limit this year. Before he officially takes over in January, Briese is taking the opportunity to meet residents throughout the district.
During the luncheon, residents and staff of The Willows asked Briese his opinion on the many issues he will face as he enters the legislature. Among the questions asked were questions regarding health care and rural housing opportunities.
