Hope is a word the Loofe family uses often when talking about the search for their 24-year-old daughter Sydney. And Tuesday morning brought even more hope to George and Susie Loofe with the Lincoln Police Department’s announcement that they have two persons of interest in Sydney’s disappearance on Nov.15. “Now that they have persons of interest in the case, we have our hopes renewed that they are looking for someone,” her father said. Her mother added,“We are optimistic that she’ll return home safely.” Sydney is originally from Neligh but now lives in Lincoln. Her parents are both educators a Neligh-Oakdale. During Tuesday’s press conference, Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister identified Aubrey C. Trail, 51, and Bailey M. Bosewell, 23, as persons of interested and asked the public to assist in locating the two individuals, both of whom have had addresses listed in multiple states, including Missouri and South Dakota. "Bailey Boswell and Aubrey Trail are two people that we need to speak with and believe they have additional information concerning Sydney's whereabouts," Bliemeister said. Boswell is 5-8 with brown hair and hazel eyes. Trail is 6-0, 284 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Most recently, they both resided in Wilber, Nebraska, the community 40 miles from Lincoln where Sydney was last seen and also the last location her cell phone was pinged. A recent address for Trail was at an apartment at 621 W. Seventh St. in Wilber, according to court records. According to her family, Sydney went missing after a date with a woman she met online. She did not go to work the following morning and her vehicle remained at her apartment. "The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are concerning," Bliemeister said.
Bliemeister said authorities have additional information on the case, but they are not releasing it due to the sensitive nature of the investigation. The Lincoln Police have teamed up with a number of agencies in the search, including the Saline County Sheriff, Nebraska State Patrol, United States Marshals Service, and the FBI in the search. Lincoln Police Capt. Jeff Bucher is leading the search. “Between Capt. Bucher and Saline County Sheriff Alan Moore, I can assure you we are making every effort to locate Sydney, and we will continue to do so until she is found," Bliemeister said. Sydney is 5-7 and weighs 135 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information regarding her or the persons of interest are asked to call 402-441-6000.
