The Neligh-Oakdale volleyball team is excited to announce its second annual Glow Volleyball Tournament.
Hannah Hoefer, head coach for the Warriors, announced that the tournament will be held Friday, Sept. 16, at Penn Lake’s sand volleyball courts. They are able to do the tournament that week because it is a bye week for the football team.
The tournament will start at approximately 6 p.m. There will be a meal served at the event as well, with the menu still being determined.
The entry fee is $20 per person and there is no limit to how many players can be on a team. Play will be a six-on-six format and there must be an equal ratio of guys and girls on the court at all times. Players must be 18 years of age or older. The format of the tournament will be determined by how many teams sign up.
“Depending on how many teams we have will decide whether it will be a double-elimination tournament or pool play and single elimination tournament,” Hoefer explained. “We hope to get 10 teams again and go with the double elimination again.”
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the youth and high school volleyball teams for Neligh-Oakdale. While anyone is welcome to enter a team, the volleyball team would really like to see local businesses and organizations form teams for competition.
To sign up, contact Hoefer or a Warrior volleyball player.
