A Neligh firefighter quickly extinguished a semi fire with in minutes on Monday morning.
Neligh Volunteer Fire Department responded to an overheated semi north of Neligh at about 9:50 a.m. about 3 miles north of Neligh on Highway 14.
The fire department was on scene for a matter of minutes before returning to the fire hall thanks to the quick actions of the driver, Charlie Henery, who happens to be a firefighter. The truck was owned by Ed Hemenway.
"There's going to be wiring damage," said Dave Jacobsen, Neligh's assistant fire chief. "Until they take it to a mechanic, they're not going to know how much."
