With temperatures in the 50s, the Neligh Chamber of Commerce kicked off Christmas with a crowd of people on Sunday night.
Main Street was full of people standing outside watching the lighted parade rather - some without coats - as 13 entries made their way through Neligh. The crowd of people made their way to the Antelope County Courthouse as Santa Claus led the countdown to turn on the lights.
Continuing the fun, more than 250 people spent the evening at the American Legion for a free hot dog feed, games and a visit with Santa Claus. Stealth Broadband and Sly's Chill and Grill sponsored the hot dog fee while Antelope County News sponsored the photos with Santa.
Many businesses in Neligh feature sales Monday as part of the Merry Monday event, and the Business Bingo begins Monday as well. People are encouraged to turn in their receipts for $20 or more from Chamber businesses for a space on their bingo card. The first "bingo" every week will win $100 and all bingos will be put into a drawing for $750 and $250 in Neligh Big Bucks.
