More than two dozen Neligh-Oakdale sixth-graders gradated from the All-Star Drug Prevention Program on Monday.
Guidance counselor Becky Kerkman said the program focuses on what students want for the future and how risky behaviors don't fit in.
"It's a researched-based program, and at the end, they make a commitment," Kerkman said. "Research shows kids who make a commitment to not do risky behavior are more successful, and it actively involves parents on starting conversation on risky behavior issues."
The students received certificates with the commitments they made during the program.
Students who participated are as follows:
Back row: Cameron Schindler, Thomas Johnson, Jesse Green, Bradyn Tschirren, Carson Jones, Talon Krebs, Gracie Shabram, Riley Martensen, Sadie Heckert, Crystal Fulsaas, Kimberly Dreger, Kaleb Mozer, Jace Cameron, Caden Schwager, Becky Kerkman.
