The Neligh-Oakdale Board of Education approved the contracts of two educators at the Monday night meeting.
The board first approved the resignation from fifth grade teacher Jennifer Snodgrass and fourth grade teacher Joyce Wemhoff.
Accepting positions that are closer to their hometowns, Wemhoff will be teaching in Elgin and Snodgrass will be teaching in Pierce.
Darcy Metschke of Neligh was approved to fill the fourth grade educator position. Metschke taught fourth grade at Clearwater-Orchard for 12 years.
Collin Crilly was also approved to teach fifth grade. Crilly will be a first year teacher at Neligh-Oakdale. He is currently student teaching at Stanton.
Interim Superintendent Bill Kuester also said that Ron Beacom also resigned from the head coach position of the girls basketball team. Beacom will continue his roles as a classroom educator and activities director.
Kuester also reported that the mild weather has allowed the track project to move forward ahead of schedule, starting as soon as March 21.
After necessary dirt work and preparations in the planning stage, cement could be poured as early as April 1.
