Memorial Day ceremonies took place Monday morning in front of the Antelope County Courthouse and then at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
The annual laying of the wreaths took place in front of the gazebo to honor the county's military who served their country. Chad Shabram served as Master of Ceremonies. The wreaths were laid by Bonnie Reinke, American Legion Auxiliary; Alice Lyons, VFW Auxiliary; Ted Hughes, American Legion; and Bill Lyons, VFW.
At the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Shabram was again the Master of Ceremonies. The Neligh-Oakdale band performed the "Star Spangled Banner," "American Spirit Overture," "Armed Forces on Parade" and "God Bless America."
Another wreath laying ceremony took place by the same individuals. Mark and Christiana performed patriotic songs before United Methodist Pastor Bruce Phillips gave the message.
The ceremony concluded with the fire squad and the playing of "Taps."
