Area law enforcement are warning Antelope County residents of the "grandparent scam."
According to officials, Antelope County residents have received a phone call from someone claiming to be a relative and requesting money for bond or bail.
Officials advise anyone receiving a phone call of this nature to check with the family member before sending money. This particular scammer will tell the person answering the phone that the family member has already made their one phone call and cannot speak to the person.
The 'grandparent scam' is not new but is again making its rounds and preying on unsuspecting individuals. Officials advise not to trust caller id.
Residents can also verify arrests by contacting local law enforcement. Officials advise always asking questions before sending anyone money.
