After more than four months of sitting empty, Neligh's famed downtown steakhouse will be reopening soon.
Calling it "wonderful news," building owner Cindy Hild said Monday afternoon that a new lease was signed this morning and new managers plan to reopen the Imperial II Steakhouse soon.
"A lease was signed this morning and the Imperial II will be opening again soon. I am so very pleased with the enthusiasm and excitement of the new managers. We share the same vision and goals. Licensing and inspections are underway, so we anticipate things to happen rapidly," Hild said via the Imperial II's Facebook page.
Cindy and her husband, the late Bruce Hild, purchased the building in October 2014 from Doug and Gloria Dennis. The building opened as a steakhouse for the first time in 1964. It changed hands several times until Ray Ahrens opened the original Imperial Steakhouse in 1982.
