Oh, you were a fun one on Thursday, Mr. Grinch.
Thanks to more than a dozen local businesses, including organizers Two Rivers Irrigation and Carquest, the inaugural Grinchmas stole the hearts of more than 100 children who attended.
Abigail Frank, who founded the event, said she was thrilled with the turnout, especially since it was planned in little more than a week.
“The kids had a great time, and we had such great support from the Neligh Chamber of Commerce businesses,” Frank said. “There were lots of games, activities, snacks, photo booth and even Santa Claus. It was a great event for families, and it was all free for them.”
Frank said she simply asked businesses if they would like to help with the event, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Thanks to the community support and strong attendance, Frank said they plan to make this an annual event.
“This is just the beginning,” Frank said. “It’ll be bigger and better next year. We have so many ideas and so do other people. Grinchmas is going to be a lot of fun next year and will keep growing thanks to all of the support. Thank you, everyone!”
